“I sat smugly in the audience, having just done a program on BBC for £30,000 or so, which would help me over the next year. I was thinking, ‘Well, this is wonderful, I’m very prosperous.’”

Hollanderthen received an email with a check for Avengersalthough he never acted in the franchise: “It was a surprising amount of money, it wasn’t his salary, it was his first box office bonus. Not the entire box office bonus, the first.”

“It was more money than I’ve ever seen, it was a seven-figure sum. He was 20, so my feeling of smugness disappeared very quickly.”
