Christian Bale Reveals Taika Waititi’s Plans to Include Kate Bush-Inspired Dance Scene in Thor: Love and Thunder
Kate Bush conquered the top of the music charts after “Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” appear on the season four soundtrack Stranger Things (2016). And the singer’s success almost extended to the MCU, then Taika Waititi had plans to include a dance inspired by the pop singer in Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).
Christian Balewho plays the villain cap in the film, revealed the Total Film (via Variety) who worked in the dance scene for love and thunder, but that she ended up being left out of filming. “taika and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we didn’t get to do, but it had this whole vibe Kate Bush that we are inspired by,” he said.
“I think he just realized that he would never be allowed to put it in the final edit of the film,” he added. “I would say the most common thing that I was getting inspired by [enquanto me preparava para o papel] it was the video of Aphex Twin in ‘Come To Daddy.’ But I don’t even know if that’s going to be in the final movie.”
“Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)” reached number one in the UK charts and is at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. On social media, Bush thanked the audience: “The track received responses in many positive ways. I’ve never experienced anything like this before! I just want to say a big thank you to everyone in the US who supported the song.”
