High Risk Investigation: What is this Irish detective series on France 3?

On Sunday 28 January 2024, France offers its viewers the chance to discover the first two episodes of its new series live from Ireland, High Risk Investigation, from 9.10pm. Produced in 2017, this detective fiction is divided into six 52-minute episodes. But what does this story actually say?

Here, unfortunately, we find Lee Manning’s character, the marketing director of the pharmaceutical giant Gumbiner-Fischer, murdered in Montreal, where he had a business meeting. In Dublin, his wife Sarah, the former director of the legal department of this laboratory, learns that he has been widowed again…

Three years ago, she lost her first husband and colleague Ciaran, who drowned in a canal. At the request of the Canadian police, Lt. Emer Byrne tells Sara the sad news. But he does not believe in the theory of gratuitous killing and begins to think that his former employer is hiding something from him. He then begins his own investigation, despite the danger to himself and his family.

Unfortunately, our hero’s path will be strewn with traps… especially when Lt. Emmer Byrne begins to suspect Sarah. Is she really innocent or does she know something that could explain her husband’s murder?

To play the main role of the high-risk investigation, we find the actress Elaine Cassidy, who will therefore fall into the shoes of Sarah Manning. He stars alongside Morten Suurbales, who plays Dr. Hans Hoffmann, as well as Angeline Ball, who plays Lt. Emmer Berry.

Lisa Dwyer Hogg (Nuala Mulvaney), Geordie Johnson (Lieutenant Charles Dukes), Paul Popovich (Lee Manning), Richard Cooper (Barry Lehane) and Derbhla Molloy (Marie Heffernan) round out the cast.
