With a team composed largely of ‘Moleques de Xerém’, Fluminense is doing well and takes the lead in the Campeonato Carioca
The “Moleques de Xerém” showed personality in yet another victory for Fluminense in the Campeonato Carioca last Sunday. Tricolor beat Nova Iguaçu 3-0, with goals from Isaac, Luan Freitas and João Neto, all trained in the club’s youth categories. Even though they didn’t put in a brilliant performance, the boys managed to produce a positive result while the starters still returned to the pitch.

Fluminense returns to the field on Thursday to face Bangu. It is not yet clear whether Fernando Diniz will return to command the team in the next match or whether Marcão will have another opportunity in charge. However, the Italian idol made a point of praising the young athletes.
– What these guys are doing is too great. They are guys who came from holidays, joined the team and dedicated themselves to the maximum. They manage to resist until the warriors return. The big clubs are in trouble and these guys keep the flame burning – Said Marcão in a press conference after the victory.
Up to this point, Fluminense has managed to have the highlight of striker Lelê, who has become the top scorer of the competition, with three goals scored. The others were scored by Isaac (double), João Neto and Luan Freitas, all from the base.
Goals aside, the fans had a surprise: Felipe Andrade. The player, who has played both as a defender and a winger this season, plays as a midfielder. He showed personality to take on the position and stood out with his ball delivery, delivery and good tackling. Another who has shown desire is Isaac. He is a striker who has grown a lot in recent games, with goals and dribbling. He can be important when you need to activate him during the season.
