It’s the case everyone’s been talking about since this weekend, and it’s getting a Netflix docu-series very soon! The subject of several sexual-assault complaints from former employees whose testimony has been released, WWE almighty boss Vince McMahon has resigned and no longer holds a position with the company.
The departure marks the downfall of a true legend in the wrestling world, whose name has been tarnished in recent years by revelations of his inappropriate behavior toward several women employed by the popular sports entertainment company.

The #MeToo of the wrestling world?
Other names have been mentioned in the testimony, including several wrestlers, suggesting the case will have ramifications in the wrestling world as well as the #MeToo movement in the film industry. Many do not hesitate to draw a parallel between the profile of Vince McMahon and Harvey Weinstein.
The businessman’s resignation comes months after WWE’s merger with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in TKO Group and just days after signing a lucrative broadcast partnership with Netflix, estimated to be worth $5 billion.
From January 2025, the platform will enjoy the exclusive rights to broadcast the WWE Raw show (currently offered in France on AB1), special shows (including the iconic Wrestlemania), as well as the catalog of old shows produced by WWE.
WWE is coming to Netflix
The media implications of these revelations will also be discussed in a very soon documentary series also produced by Netflix. Vince McMahon’s travel and history show was originally slated to air in 2022. But the revelation of the complaints that the latter was the subject of led to the postponement of the series, as well as the filming of new interviews.
The Vince McMahon docu-series doesn’t have an air date on Netflix yet, but could happen before the end of the year before his WWE contract. Unless new twists in the case force the platform to once again delay putting its program online…
