The European Union executive declared on Tuesday (30) that the conditions do not exist to conclude the free trade agreement with Mercosur, which has been negotiated for more than 20 years.
“The conditions have not been met,” a European Commission spokesperson said at the daily press conference in Brussels.
The European Executive, however, underlined that negotiations with Mercosur “continue”.
“The EU continues to pursue the goal of reaching an agreement that respects the EU’s sustainability objectives and our sensitivities in the agricultural sector,” the spokesperson underlined. .
