Following the release of action films Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre last April and The Covenant airing on Prime Video in June 2023, Guy Ritchie is now back with the feature film The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare. This action film is adapted from the 2016 book by Damien Lewis.
Based on recently declassified files from the British War Office and inspired by true events, this action comedy tells the story of the first special forces organization created during World War II, which was created by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials, including author Ian. Fleming.
This secret warfare unit, consisting of a motley crew of thugs and snipers, completes a daring mission against the Nazis using unconventional warfare techniques. Their bold approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British SAS and modern covert operations warfare.
The first images from this Jerry Bruckheimer-produced film promise a madcap action flick at the crossroads of The King’s Man: First Mission and Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds. The film is led by Henry Cavill, sporting a mustache for the occasion, Alan Ritchson, Eiza Gonzalez, Alex Pettyfer, hero Fiennes Tiffin, Til Schweiger, Henry Goulding and Cary Elwes.
Announced in US theaters on April 19, the film has yet to be dated in France. Meanwhile, the TV series The Gentlemen, adapted from Guy Ritchie’s film, will be available on Netflix from March 7.
Henry Cavill, meanwhile, is showing Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn’s spy film in Argyll this Wednesday…
