The leaders of the 27 European Union member states have reached an agreement on a 50 billion euro aid package for Ukraine for the next four years, following a veto threat from Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“We have an agreement. All 27 leaders have agreed on an additional support package of 50 billion euros for Ukraine within the EU budget,” said Charles Michel, President of the European Council.
“This ensures constant, long-term and predictable financing for Ukraine,” Michel added, stressing that Brussels takes the “leadership and responsibility” to support Kiev. .
