February 7: Rael, prophet of aliens

This is a documentary series for this month’s event in February. After screening at FIPADOC International Documentary Film Festival, Rael, Prophet of Extraterrestrials is finally available on Netflix.

Four episodes return to the crazy story of guru Claude Vorillon and his sect born in the mid-1970s. Followers, detractors, and Rael himself are interviewed in this documentary series that follows the evolution of an extraterrestrial-inspired religion that has become controversial. Sect.

February 22: Avatar The Last Airbender

The cult animated series Avatar: The Last Master has been licensed for its series adaptation and live action following M Night Shyamalan’s failed film. The program tells the same story, the story of a young avatar, Aang, who learns to master the four elements (water, earth, fire and air) in order to restore balance to a world threatened by the dreaded Fire Nation.

The cast includes lesser-known young talents Gordon Cormier, Chiaventio Tarbell, Ian Owsley and Dallas Liu, but also small-screen stars such as Daniel Dae Kim and Ken Legge, seen in Lost, and Paul Soon-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian).

Following the 2011 film by Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, the worldwide bestseller What? Adapted again, this time as a series, by David Nichols. Ambika Mod (This Is Going To Hurt) and Leo Woodall (White Lotus, The Citadel) have been chosen to play two lovers in this complex romance.

One Day tells the story of Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew, who spoke for the first time on July 15, 1988, on the night of their high school graduation. The next morning everyone goes their separate ways. But where will they be on this typical day next year, and the year after that, and all the years after that?

February 9: The Killer Paradox

It’s a new South Korean series event at the beginning of the year: Assassin’s Paradox has everything to be a success on Netflix. Directed by Chang-hee Lee (Strangers From Hell), this series stars two stars: Woo-sik Choi, seen in Last Train to Busan, Okja and Parasite, and Hye-joon Lee, seen in The President’s Man and pandemic”.

The series tells the story of how, with one accidental murder leading to another, an average student finds himself trapped in an endless game of cat and mouse with an over-perceptive detective.
