What awaits us in the DCU?
As Gunn himself mentioned in the Instagram post, this year we will have a series in theaters that will be part of this new DC universe.
Command of Creatures will be an animation consisting of seven episodes, all written by the director. There’s no official release date yet, but it’s expected to launch in the second half of this year on Max (which will replace HBO Max).
In the plot, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) decides to create a secret operations team composed only of monstrous prisoners, including the war pilot Rick Flag Sr., the amphibious scientist Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus, SHADE agents Frankenstein and the bride Frankenstein, as well as the GI Robot and Weasel.
Waller is also expected to make his own live-action series for the streaming platform.
The expectation is that the first phase of the DCU will also contain series on Green Lanterns and Amazons (Wonder Woman).
Among the films, in addition to Superman: Legacy and Supergirl: The Woman of Tomorrow, the new universe will also contain a feature film on Swamp Thing and another on Batman, which was previously called The Brave and the Bold.
The information comes from Omelette.
