Hunter Schafer (‘Euphoria’) joins the prequel to ‘The Hunger Games’

He will play Tigris Snow.

    ‘Euphoria’ star Hunter Schafer is the latest name to join ‘The Hunger Games’ prequel‘Ballad of Songbirds and Serpents’.

    The actress will play Tiger SnowCoriolanus Snow’s cousin who advises him on everything from her role as a mentor to being the core of his moral compass.

    Schafer to join the stars of ‘West Side Story’ Josh Andres Rivera and Rachel Zegler in the movie as well Tom Blyth. Blyth will play the title role as the young Coriolanus Snow, portrayed by Donald Sutherland in the original film series.

    The prequel will focus on the story of 18-year-old Coriolanus, whom ‘Hunger Games’ fans may already know as the tyrannical president of Panem.years before he rises to power.

    The official synopsis for the film reads: “Coriolanus Snow is the last hope for his bloodline, a once-proud family that has fallen from post-war disgrace.”

    With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler), the tribute girl from impoverished District 12. But after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by singing defiantly during the harvest ceremony, Snow thinks she just might turn the odds in her favor.”

    The film will be directed by Francis Lawrence., who previously directed the franchise films ‘Catching Fire,’ ‘Mockingjay Part One,’ and ‘Mockingjay Part Two.’ The script has been adapted from the novel of the same name by SuzanneCollinswhich was released in 2020.

    A recent update confirmed that the film’s progress was “progressing very, very well” in pre-production.
