The production of “BBB 24” scheduled “O Escândalo”, a film about sexual harassment, at Cine BBB on Monday (2/5). The fact was highlighted by Ráculo Cardozo during the repercussion of Tadeu Schmidt’s speech on the elimination of Juninho on Tuesday evening (7/2). According to the sister, the film would have messed with the heads of the women participating in the house, who would have started to look at Juninho with different eyes.
Referring to Leidy Elen, Ráculo said: “He made a lot of comments after that movie about the sexual abuse they saw. He was explaining it in detail, you know? It’s a very strong thing, people. A very strong burden.” When she connected the facts, Globoplay cut the image and did not return to the discussion.
Previously, Leidy considered the film a clue after what happened between Juninho and Alane Dias. “This film seems like a suggestion for Juninho! Very good… There were also some lines that he said yesterday,” she described.
In his speech, presenter Tadeu Schmidt also underlined the direct comparison between Alane and Juninho, asking for reflection between them. Tadeu wondered whether the walled people said the right words, whether they made “such an important movement” without absolute certainty. He also warned that if they played outside the rules, the Paredão wouldn’t even happen, suggesting expulsion. In the end he felt there was room for interpretation and the audience chose to be on the “other side”.
Just like Raquel, many people wondered on social media if Globo wanted to create a situation by influencing the nuns by showing “Escândalo” on Sincerão day. Even before Cine BBB, there were already complaints on X (formerly Twitter) about “agendas” and “militancy” in the house. Could it be a coincidence that a film was planned that would bring attention to Juninho?
The film was seen by Juninho, Leidy Elin, Bin Laden, Deniziane Ferreira, Matteus Amaral and Giovanna Lima. The production even asked Juninho to read the description of the story.
What is “The Scandal”
Released in 2019, the film directed by Jay Roach explores behind the scenes of the Fox News news channel and the downfall of its powerful CEO, Roger Ailes, in the face of sexual harassment allegations that marked the beginning of a “major movement” within the news and media industry – months before the exposure of film producer Harvey Weinstein and the explosion of the #MeToo movement.
“The Scandal” centers on the experiences of three women at Fox News: Megyn Kelly (played by Charlize Theron), Gretchen Carlson (played by Nicole Kidman) and a fictional character named Kayla Pospisil (played by Margot Robbie), who summarizes the experience of other women in the company. “Scandal” details not only the individual allegations against Ailes, but also the toxic atmosphere and system that allowed abusive behavior, demonstrating how situations unfolded on a daily basis and were treated as if they were part of normality.
Cherlize Theron and Margot Robbie were nominated for an Oscar for their roles, but the makeup team won the award for Theron’s transformation into Megyn Kelly.
Globo will screen the film this Wednesday (2/7) at 11.15pm, after “BBB 24”.
