In 2021, Operation Portugal was a huge success in cinemas and gathered 452,000 viewers. Three years later, D’Jalle returned with a second installment called La Vie de château! Following the events of the first episode, we once again find Hakim aka Joakim, our clumsy and badass cop! The latter must thwart the plans of a rogue promoter: Count Neville.
Together with his friends, he infiltrates the Count’s castle, but he also has to prepare his marriage with Julia, from whom he hid his mission. Nothing goes as planned and Hakeem and his gang of nickel-plated legs, overwhelmed, go from disaster to disaster. He will then enter a mad race to succeed in his mission and save his relationship.

A good time with the family?
Lucy Fayard thinks we’re on our way out “Great time with the family. Kids will find this movie very funny and as an adult you won’t get bored. Good, entertaining comedy! The room couldn’t stop laughing the whole time.”
Simun, who finds the film, is of the same opinion “Awesome. Much better than the first one! Had the whole audience laughing until they cried from start to finish and so did we. A great feel-good family comedy. Go see it if you want a good laugh.”
On the other hand, Dorian Dakin appreciates comedy “It’s funny from beginning to end. It’s a typical movie you watch while your brain shuts down. We’re trying to laugh and not find the next Oscar-worthy script, but we laugh, and above all, the fall is often unexpected. And well-paced.”
Loud and vulgar?
On the other hand, Laetitia did not appreciate Operation Portugal 2 at all: “Noisy, vulgar, sluggish film that tries in vain to reproduce Guests, What should we do with the good Lord?, The importance of the party. A nightmare!”
Let us remind you that Operation Portugal is inspired by the great success of the comedian D’Jales (from the Jamel Comedy Club), the sketch Le Portugais, a sequence that was especially noted thanks to Marrakech du Sicily.
As director Frank Cimieri explains, “This project was born in D’Jalle’s head, and his head is a mess, a thousand ideas a second. He took this Portuguese character and he came up with the idea of putting him in the position of an undercover cop. It fits him like a glove.”
