What does the press think?
According to Ouest France:
“A very successful tribute to the most eccentric person of the 20th century. Edward Baer and Jonathan Cohen die laughing.” (Pascal Vergero) 5/5
Based on it:
“A fun, whimsical and crazy anti-biographical film.” (Françoise Delbecque) 4/5
According to Cahiers du Cinéma:
“This focus on the image-making enterprise makes sense, as Dupierre’s films have a deeper kinship with Dalí’s public figure than with his painting: nothing blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination better than life itself.” (Olivia Cooper-Hajian) 4/5
According to CinemaTeaser:
“Funny, weird, and totally awesome.” (Renan Cross) 4/5
According to La Voix du Nord:
“All punctuated by Thomas Bangalter’s (Daft Punk) intoxicating chorus, but above all enriched by an exploration of the status of a genius, even the average person’s ability to be one.” (Christophe Caron) 4/5
At the movies: Quentin Dupierre Dahl… Why should we see this crazy movie with Edward Baer and Jonathan Cohen?
According to Mariana:
“So we shouldn’t trust his air of an incoherent old boy (he celebrates his 50th birthday in April): Dupierre knows his classics and also claims to be influenced by Dali’s historical accomplice, Luis Buñuel, in this sinister film. ” (Olivier de Bruyne) 4/5
According to Les Echos:
“Despite its mutterings, it’s a short, funny and clever film.” (Adrienne Gombo) 4/5
According to Le Point:
“We’re having a lot of fun with this treasure hunt game, brilliantly crafted by a filmmaker who proclaims lightness in a harsh world.” (Jean-Luc Wachhausen) 3/5
According to Defector:
“So it is with Dupierre, like many of his other films: a few successful surrealist experiments, a few others of no interest, for an annual vintage that is, on the whole, entertaining and quite stimulating in the midst of overly sensible films.” (Frederic Mercier) 3/5
According to Critikat.com:
“Mr. Oiseau has become Mr. Oisif? Dupierre continues to entertain, but seems a little lonely on board today.” (Jean-Sebastian Massar) 1/5
