Green Hornet, the mythical TV series with Bruce Lee, will he have the right to make a new adaptation of the movie?
Already adapted into a movie by Michelle Gonder in 2011, the cult series Le Frelon vert could be given the right to a new version on the big screen!
Becoming a cult figure in 1966 thanks to Bruce Lee, The Green Hornet followed the seductive Brit Reid (Van Williams), director of the Daily Sentinel.
At night he becomes a green hornet, a ruthless masked watchman who fights crime with his butler Kato (Bruce Lee), a martial arts expert.
according to DeadlineLei Wenell, Saw screenwriter and director of The Last Invisible Man, is in talks to make an adaptation of The Green Hornet new film.
Universal Studios will be on the ground with the acquisition of David Cope, Green Hornet and Kato Screenplay (VO).
If Michelle Gondor’s version was focused on comedy, Wenell’s adaptation would have definitely tended towards a thriller in a more serious and dark tone.
Pre-production should start very quickly, with the first names in the cast? We will find out soon!
