The club prepares an astronomical offer and Salah could become the most expensive player in the world

The values of the Egyptian’s transfer could exceed Neymar’s transfer to PSG

Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad is preparing an astronomical bid for Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah. The information comes from “The Athletic”, which also revealed the value of the Egyptian’s possible proposal: 235 million euros (around 1.25 billion Brazilian reals at current prices).

These values would make Salah the most expensive player in the history of football, surpassing Neymar’s transfer to PSG, completed in 2017. The Brazilian cost the French club 222 million euros.

It is not the first time that Salah has been targeted by the Saudi club. In September 2023, the attacker received a 100 million euro offer from Al-Ittihad himself, which was rejected by Liverpool.

At Al-Ittihad, Salah would be teammates with other world football stars who recently moved to Saudi Arabia, such as Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté, as well as the Brazilian Fabinho. Goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe (ex Grêmio), defender Luiz Felipe (ex Lazio) and striker Romarinho (ex Corinthians) could also become teammates of the Egyptian star if the transfer goes through.

Salah has been playing for Liverpool since the 2017-2018 season. Since then he has played 332 games and scored 204 goals. This season, the star has appeared in 27 games and found the net 18 times. The striker is currently recovering from an injury sustained while playing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.
