JK Rowling, author of Harry Potter, falls for a prank and believes she’s talking to the president of Ukraine

Then the supposed Zelensky questions about possible sanctions for the Russian actor Aleksandr Kuznetsovwho appeared in the latest film by Fantastic Beasts and Dumbledore’s Secrets (2022) as Helmut.

The author again seems to examine the suggestion and says “fantastic beasts it has been a very interesting experience. I will certainly talk to people and see what we can do.”

Then the duo says that donations from Lumus Foundationan organization to help children in orphanages in Ukraine, were to be used to buy weapons. rowling replies: “We will take care of the children, but I really want Ukraine to have all the weapons it needs”.

The joke ends when the duo turns on the camera and introduces a group of people claiming to be “Order of the Ukrainian Phoenix”, but wearing T-shirts with the slogan “Only Putin”, president of Russia.

The author, without realizing what it is about, praises the group and thanks them for their presence. In the end, the supposed Zelensky asks the author to say in Russian “Only Putin” she repeats and the call ends.

In a note, the author’s team condemned the prank.

“J.K. Rowling was approached to talk about her extensive charity work in Ukraine, supporting children and families who have been affected by the ongoing conflict in the region. The video, which has been edited, is a distorted representation of the conversation.”
