Guardiola melts over Manchester City’s “perfect” performance in the Champions League

The coach also praised the opponent’s performance, which at times complicated the match

Manager Pep Guardiola praised his Manchester City team after their 3-1 win over Copenhagen in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie. The coach, who had shown some discomfort even before the ball rolled, completely changed his speech in the post-match press conference and described his team’s performance as “perfect”.

– We played really well, I’m very proud. Today was perfect. The third goal helped us a lot, I hope that at home we can decide the ranking and move on to the next phase,” she said.

Despite City’s good performance, Copenhagen made the match difficult at times, especially with the increase in scoring disturbing the English team’s offensive construction. It was with a move like this that the home team tied the game at 1-1, after forcing an error from goalkeeper Ederson when the ball was passed.

– It was important not to lose the match here. The match was played well from the first minute. We conceded goals, but sometimes it happens.

The coach also revealed the secret of such a dominant second half, even against an opponent so closed and ready to surprise on the counterattack or from a set piece.

– In the second half they played with five men, but overall we did well. We didn’t allow transitions (counter-attacks), nor did we let the fans get fired up. We had a perfect rhythm, so we are very happy – analyzed the coach.
