Actor Bill Skarsgård, known for playing the clown Pennywise in the “It” series and for facing Keano Reeves in “John Wick 4: Baba Yaga”, was arrested in Sweden for possession of marijuana in October 2023. But the News only came to light this week, when he was convicted of the crime.
Skarsgård was arrested at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm, his hometown, for possession of 2.43 grams of marijuana. Because the country has not decriminalized the use of cannabis, possession of small amounts for personal use can result in a fine or up to six months in prison.
According to TMZ, Skarsgård has pleaded guilty but will not face prison time. His sanction was a fine of 40 thousand Swedish crowns (about R $ 19 thousand).
A member of a famous acting family, Bill is one of eight children of Stellan Skarsgård (“Thor”), who currently stars in the “Andor” series and will next be seen in theaters in “Dune: Part 2,” which opens February 29 in Brazil. His best-known brothers are Alexander Skarsgård (“The Northman”, “True Blood”), Gustaf Skarsgård (“Vikings”, “Oppenheimer”) and Valter Skarsgård (“Mayhem – Lords of Chaos” and “Sound in the Strip”) .
