In an interview, the singer discussed the meaning of one of the most striking sequences in Prime Video’s new release, This Is Me… Now

This Friday (16), Jennifer Lopez is back with his ninth studio album, This Is Me… Nowwhich premieres accompanied by a feature film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story. In an interview, the artist discussed the relationship between one of the film’s most striking sequences, available on Prime Video, and toxic and abusive relationships, of which she has already been a victim.

In film production, Lopez walks through different points of his personal life on his journey to find love. Fans of the singer can identify since the end of her relationship with Ben Affleckin 2004, until the couple’s reconciliation, in recent years, and everything that happened during the period in which they were apart.

However, in one of the most striking sequences in the novelty, J.Lo dances aggressively with another man, a representation of an ex of hers, inside a glass house. At one point, she is slapped in the face by the man, at the same time that the house begins to burst and collapse on top of her.

In an interview with Variety, Lopez avoided the question about who the ex in the sequence would be, but clarified that that moment, in fact, speaks of toxic relationships experienced by the artist throughout her love life:

“The idea of ​​the video house was about how we get involved in these toxic relationships. You have traumas from your past. You have these patterns that you haven’t yet been able to understand. And you get involved in these relationships where you commit yourself in ways that you never thought you would. Or you allow people to treat you in ways you never thought you would. And that has certainly happened to me.”revealed Lopez.

In This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, Jennifer Lopez crosses different cinematographic genres to tell a very personal story, about his journey in search of love, since breaking up with the actor, screenwriter and director Ben Affleck, in the early 2000s, until the couple’s reconciliation in recent years.
