According to Comscore data, Mrs. Teiaa Sony film based on Marvel characters, debuted at number one in Brazil, grossing R$5.97 million between Thursday (15th), the day of its premiere, and Sunday (18th).
And speaking of Oscar, Area of interest, an A24 drama also nominated for the award, came in at seventh place in Brazil. The film won the 2024 BAFTA for best British film – considered the Oscar of the United Kingdom -, while Oppenheimer was the night’s big winner, taking home seven statuettes out of 13 nominations, including Best Picture.

Even though it topped the Brazilian box office, not everyone approved of it Mrs. Teia. The production with Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Gray) was not well received in the United States.
For critics, the film has a bad, weak plot and silly dialogues. Not to mention, of course, the attempted allusion to Spider-Man, one of Marvel’s most famous heroes, which annoyed some fans, who pointed out a lack of originality.
For others, Mrs. Teia it’s more franchise-based Premonition that in fact in the saga of Spider. Even the little action in the film would have left it monotonous.
