Carlinhos Brown’s career will become an HBO documentary series

Carlinhos Brown is one of the biggest names in Brazilian music and his importance will be highlighted in a new HBO documentary series, which will tell all about the artist’s career. Born in Salvador, the musician, among many other great achievements, can be proud of being the first Brazilian musician to receive an Oscar nomination.

The name and release date of the series have not yet been announced.

HBO has not yet confirmed what the name of the series will be, nor its release date. While we wait for more information on the production, the company has released a small description of what the documentary series will be about.

“Brown has become one of the best-known artists in Bahian music and his globally recognized talent represents Brazilian culture wherever he goes. It is the story of his roots and this unknown legacy that will be told in the new series,” reads the description of the series, provided by HBO itself.

Carlinhos Brown’s solo career began in 1996 and, since then, the musician has released more than 10 studio albums. He has already won the Latin Grammy twice with Tribalistas, a musical group formed with Marisa Monte and Arnaldo Antunes.

In 2011 he was nominated for an Oscar for best original music, with the song Real In Rio, composed for the Pixar animated film Rio.
