The Minister of Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, stated on Monday evening, 19th, in an interview with Roda Viva, from TV Cultura, that there are positions of the National Directorate of the PT, party of president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, not always in line with the government, or vice versa. What caused friction was a political resolution approved in December in which the party attacked the so-called “fiscal austericide”, criticizing the zero deficit objective proposed by the Finance Minister, Fernando Haddad. “I absolutely disagree with this resolution,” he added.
Padilha denied being present at the meeting that finalized the text and said that, if he had been present when the resolution was debated, he “would have questioned the resolution”. “President Lula has always said one thing: neither the PT is obliged to accept everything the government does and develops, nor is the government obliged to accept any type of resolution from the PT,” the minister said.
