After three weeks on air, La Tribu is getting ready to bow this Monday, February 19 on TF1. This remake of the Swedish series Our Big Family follows the daily lives of Camille (Alix Poisson) and Martin (Jonathan Zakai), a couple in their fifties who find themselves at the head of a blended family. Between their children, sister, parents, but also their ex(s), this family forms a real “tribe” with an unstable balance.
Will there be a second season?
As of now, TF1 has yet to greenlight La Tribu Season 2. The channel is expected to wait for the results of the hearings to decide. And, unfortunately, the series could not win the hearts of the audience.
By its second night of broadcast, the series had averaged just 2.01 million viewers, or 11.9% of the total four-and-over audience and 14.2% of the female target audience. Purchasing Managers Under 50 (FRDA-50).
When it launched, 2.93 million curious people (17.3% of the general public and 19.7% of FRDA-50) found themselves in front of their television screens. Low ratings that compromise the series’ chances of returning for a second season.
Alix Poisson and Jonathan Zakai are ready for the future
While Tom’s future remains uncertain at this point, Alix Poisson and Jonathan Zakai, who play the two main characters, have said they are open to returning for a second season if it ever sees the light of day.
Camille’s interpreter, who was introduced during the La Rochelle art festival, assured that she would be in the second season. “If it’s still as well-written, imaginative, and people like it, I’ll definitely be back“, he explained.
“However, there are several parameters that allow the series to last several years. At the moment, we don’t know anything about the future of La Tribu, but we hope people will be there.“
Find the last two episodes Tom, this Monday, February 19, from 9:10pm on TF1. For latecomers, Season 1 is available in full and for free on the TF1+ platform.
