Small plane crashes near supermarket in Barueri, Greater SP


At least seven people were injured, but no deaths were reported.

A small plane crashed in the late afternoon of Tuesday 20th, in front of a supermarket in Barueri, a city in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. At least seven people were injured, but no deaths were reported.

According to initial information from the firefighters, three of the injured were taken to hospitals in the region, including the pilot of the plane, who was trapped in the wreckage. The accident was reported around 4.22pm.

The company specified that the accident occurred on Avenida Marco, very close to the Hugão Atacado & Varejo supermarket. In total, nine vehicles and a helicopter were moved to the scene.

Firefighters reported that one of the victims suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and was transported to the Engenho Novo emergency room. The pilot was taken to the center’s emergency room. A third victim was taken by helicopter to the Hospital das Clínicas in the capital of Sao Paulo.
