There have been claims of celibacy and hints of a vasectomy in the past, but seemingly unsuccessful for the one and only Nick Cannon. The wild and out alum has had eight children, five of them in the past two years alone, with Lucky Number 8 coming shortly. Everyone (and their mom) has a punchline ready for the predicament, but Cannon’s latest mom realizes the criticism that comes with becoming one of her many.
Eight children, five mothers, one father. Math is simply not math for those online who see a single child as an endeavor in and of itself. There were even questions directed at Bre Tiesi, Nick Cannon’s future mother, as to why she would have entered into such a deal as well. In an interview with entertainment tonightThe 31-year-old responded to those criticisms with her own criticisms, saying:
I’m not very stubborn [other people’s] Agency. Not really my thing. When it started, I thought, ‘I don’t understand why everyone is so worried. Like, why are you mad about what’s going on in my house? For me, it doesn’t really concern me. I understand people’s side and are used to their conventional relationships. This is what they teach us. Whatever you want to call it, it has been going on for years.
Bre Tiesi and Nick Cannon’s baby announcement in February was seen as not only unconventional but controversial in some ways. Cannon’s seventh child, a 5-month-old baby named Zen, had tragically died of brain cancer two months earlier. Tiesi told the outlet that it was a difficult time because Cannon and Alyssa Scott (Zen’s mother) were still “in mourning” and continue to do so to this day. (Last week, Cannon and Scott shared touching birthday messages honoring Zen after his death.) Tiesi added that he had no intention of “striking [Scott] while she was downstairs “with her news about the baby.
However, the tradition that the actor has so many kids in a row has become more of a running joke than anything these days. And Nick Cannon got a little closer, with a little nudge of Ryan Reynolds and his “vasectomy” cocktail. However, the public comments have not stopped, especially that Cannon cannot be 100% present with all children. However, the former daytime talk show host recently defended his level of involvement as a father, saying he’s busier than the “average adult”. For his part, Baby Number 8’s mother isn’t too worried about her engagement. She said:
As a child he will always need his father, but I don’t think that’s something he should say. [Cannon]. I think it will be there by itself. I have faith that he will do well.
However, speaking of moms, the masked singer the host said he has a mommy who is his favorite. (And she is not who you think she is.) Bre Tiesi revealed that she is not close to any of the other mothers because she respects their personal space. However, she is optimistic that they will all be friendly in the future as Cannon’s brood grows, pointing out that “the children will be very close”.
They may really want to continue as the number is only growing as Nick Cannon has confirmed rumors that there is more than one baby on the way in 2022. Keep an eye out for more information on this and every time Bre Tiesi gives birth, which should be any day now.
