Since the early hours of the morning, the representatives visited a series of facilities in Rio de Janeiro In the capital Rio de Janeiro, the group explored Maracanã, as well as team and referee training centers, hotels and the press center. Until Friday (23rd), members will travel to Brasilia, Salvador and Pernambuco.
In the late afternoon the delegation visited the CBF Museum, where they were received by the president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ednaldo Rodrigues.

“It is a great pride to welcome the FIFA delegation to our country. In these days we will present in detail the Brazilian project to host the 2027 World Cup. I am confident that we will have the best Women’s World Cup in history,” said Rodrigues.
The leader of the delegation is New Zealander Sarai Bareman, director general of women’s football at FIFA. Besides her there are ten other delegates.
Participating as representatives of the national candidacy were Valesca Araújo, responsible for the planning and management of the event’s infrastructure, Jaqueline Barros, responsible for coordination with governments, and Manuela Biz, communications consultant.
“I believe that we do not need to make large investments or large constructions. Undeniably, we have a country practically ready to host a World Cup. We have work teams prepared to carry out the event. Furthermore, we have a population passionate about football, with many girls who they love women’s football and want to have this opportunity,” said Valesca Araújo, the official responsible for the candidacy.
Two other joint bids (United States/Mexico and Belgium/Germany/Netherlands) are also in the running. The host country will finally be announced on May 17, in Thailand.
