The war miniseries Masters of the Air, recently released on Apple TV, had the most-watched premiere episode in the streaming service’s history. Information from the company itself and from Varietyalthough they do not specify the number of viewers, they confirm that the record has been broken, surpassing important names on the platform, such as The morning show AND Break.
It was revealed that shortly after the first episode, viewership on Apple TV increased by 65% globally, compared to the previous seven days. In more than 100 countries, the platform’s viewership growth has reached double digits.
With new episodes released every week, Masters of the Air its sixth chapter will be released to Apple TV users on February 23, next Friday. The last episode will be released on March 15th.
Since its debut, the miniseries has received positive reviews from critics. Variety television critic Aramide Tinubu said the production is “massive, beautifully rendered and a reminder that war is murderous, horrible and terribly human”.
