Disney+ subscribers will have new K-dramas – Korean series – to binge. The streaming platform has revealed a list of four new productions arriving in its catalog this year: Blood Free, Unmasked, The Tyrant and Gangnam B-Side.
Disney+ has been betting on the genre for a while now. The previous year he released the Korean dramas The Next Bet and On the Move.
Four new K-dramas arrive on Disney+:
Woo Chae Woon (Ju Jihoon) is a former bodyguard who carries past trauma and is hired to protect the CEO of BF, a lab-grown meat company, Yoon Ja Yoo (Han Hyojoo). The organization has ended the consumption of animal meat by humans, but people within BF have doubts about the CEO.
After breaking controversial news, a group of investigative journalists must save their jobs. But to do so they will have to complete an almost impossible task: discover the whereabouts of a famous actor who disappeared without a trace 20 years ago. Unmasked protagonists Kim Hyesoo (Queen).
In the thriller series The Tyrant, a US government agent is on a mission to recover a deadly virus that was stolen from South Korean authorities. Meanwhile, intelligence agencies around the world are fighting against organizations that want to spread the virus and cause chaos across the globe.
In this crime drama, a retired detective returns to active duty after his daughter’s friend goes missing in Seoul’s posh Gangnam neighborhood. To unravel the mystery, the detective enters a world of addiction, drugs and corruption, where he uncovers secrets that could shake the structures of the city’s wealthiest elite.
When will the productions be released?
For now the Korean series does not yet have an official release date. What is known, however, is that they should arrive on Disney+ during 2024.
