What to watch during Cinema Week, which starts this Thursday (22)

Starting this Thursday, February 22nd, another edition of Cinema Weekwhich offers, until the 28th, tickets for 2D sessions at R$ 12. Organized by National Federation of Cinema Exhibition Companies (Feneec)the initiative should be adopted by chains such as Cinemark, UCI Cinemas, Kinoplex, Cinépolis and Cinesystem, among others.

Poor Creatures

The biopic goes through highlights of the life of Bob Marleysuch as the beginning of his career in music, the fight in defense of peace, which marked the star’s life, and the shooting attack he suffered in 1976.

The Boy and the Crane

New from the renowned Studio Ghibli, The Boy and the Crane tells the story of a twelve-year-old boy who struggles to settle in a new city after his mother’s death. However, when a talking heron appears and says that his mother is still alive, the boy decides to go after her in another world.

The Color Purple

The Color Purple tells the story of Celie (Interpreted by Phylicia Mpasi It is Barrino Fantasy at different stages), a poor, black and practically illiterate woman, living in Georgia, in the South of the United States, during the period between 1900 and 1940. Brutalized since childhood, the young woman was forced to marry Albert (Colman Domingo, Rustin), a violent widower, father of four children, who saw her only as an employee and frequently imposed physical and moral suffering on her.

Ferrari

Ferrari shows behind the scenes of Formula 1 in 1957, when the former driver Enzo Ferrari is in crisis, with the imminent bankruptcy of his company and the difficulties in his marriage with Laura (Penelope Cruz, Parallel Mothers). Already unstable, the relationship is further shaken by the death of the couple’s son and the involvement of Ferrari with Lina Lardi (Shailene Woodley, Divergent), which comforts him. While all the students and teachers at a boarding school prepare for the holidays with their families, a group of outcasts ends up being left behind. Responsible for those who ended up staying at school, a grumpy and unlovable teacher ends up forming bonds with a troublemaking teenager and the school cook.

In the history of Past livestwo childhood friends break up when Daughter in law (Greta Lee, Russian doll) moves to the United States as a teenager and Hae Sung (Teo Yoo, Decision to Leave) continues in South Korea. Years later, they meet again via the internet, which awakens old feelings.

The Game of Death

Based on the controversial Blue Whale challenge, which terrorized the internet a few years ago, The Game of Death tells the story of a young woman desperate to find an answer to the sudden death of her younger sister, who threw herself in front of a train. When searching the girl’s computer, she discovers that the youngest girl was involved in a macabre game in which she was blackmailed into completing challenges, which led to her death, and now the young girl needs to prevent the game from continuing and making new victims.

Our Home 2: The Messengers

Sequel to the 2010 film and based on the work of the medium Chico Xavier, Our Home 2: The Messengers shows a group of spirits receiving a mission to go to Earth to help rescue three people, whose intertwined stories are about to fail.

Anatomy of a Fall

Starring German actress Sandra Hüller (The Faces of Toni Erdmann, The Ideal Man), Anatomy of a Fall tells the story of a writer suspected of having killed her own husband. She goes to trial and the only witness is the couple’s son, who tries to recover memories of the tragedy.

Baghead: Witch of the Dead

In Baghead: The Witch of the Dead, a girl inherits a bar from her late father and discovers that an entity capable of incorporating those who have died lives in the place. Desperate for money, she decides to monetize the entity’s capacity and create a bridge of communication between the dead and mourners, without imagining what the consequences of her actions will be.

Everyone But You

Based on So much noise for nothing1598 work by William Shakespeare, Everyone But You tells the story of Bea (Sydney Sweeney, Madame Teia) It is Ben (Glen Powell, Top Gun: Maverick), who have a wonderful night together, but end up not understanding each other at the end of it and start to hate each other. Forced to go to a wedding together, they decide to fake dating just to get through the weekend, but end up realizing that they are falling in love with each other, even though they try to deny it.

My sister and I

In My sister and I, two sisters, who are always fighting, were unable to fulfill their mother’s dream of becoming a country duo and followed completely opposite paths. However, when the family matriarch disappears, they must put their differences aside and come together to look for her on a trip that could change their lives.
