Apple launches app that shows game results in real time

Apple announced this Wednesday (21st) the launch of Apple Sports, its first sports application. According to the company, the platform will offer real-time information on games like basketball, hockey and football, as well as statistics, betting odds and other data, all directly from your iPhone.

We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want: an app that gives them incredibly fast access to scores and stats. Apple Sports is available for free on the App Store and allows users to easily stay updated on their favorite teams and leagues.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services.

Apple Sports will keep fans updated on the following leagues currently in season:

According to Apple, the app is compatible with Apple TV, for watching live games and connected streaming apps. “Apple Sports will also sync seamlessly with selected favorites in the My Sports experience, including the Apple TV app and Apple News”.

Apple Sports represents Apple’s latest dive into the world of sports, a multibillion-dollar business that several companies have bet on.

Recently, for example, ESPN, owned by Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery announced a partnership with the launch of new sports streaming. The movement of the entertainment giants, however, is already generating complaints. FuboTV, a small US sports streaming company, has filed a lawsuit against the companies arguing that the deal will create a monopoly, violating antitrust rules.
