The match started late due to heavy rain in Montes Claros which caused a series of infiltrations in the Tancredo Neves gym. Arena custodians filled the field with magnesium powder to reduce surface humidity.

After almost an hour’s delay, the match began with MOC América winning in the first set. But Mount Carmel reacted and managed to turn the situation around, winning the next three sets. The highlight was the performance of the opposite André Saliba, who scored 26 points and was elected best player of the match, receiving the Viva Vôlei Trophy.

This was Azulim/Monte Carmelo’s third victory in the Superliga. The team is in 11th place with 10 points, five behind Apan Blumenau who is the first team out of the relegation zone. MOC América remains at the bottom of the table, with five points and just one win in 16 matches.
