From Star Wars to Jurassic World 4: Very good news for the rest of this saga!

On January 22, Universal Pictures surprised everyone by announcing the start of work on the 4th opus in the Jurassic World saga! After 3 films released between 2015 and 2022, we thought the franchise was well and truly over. No!

The park is still functioning!

Dinosaur Park is set to open Chapter 7 (counting the Jurassic Park Trilogy (1993 – 2001)) on July 2nd, 2025! David Koepp, writer of Jurassic Park and The Lost World (1993 and 1997), has once again picked up the pen to write this new opus of the prehistoric saga .

Originally, Jurassic World 4 director David Leitch, director of John Wick and Deadpool 2, was supposed to be in charge. Just a few days after announcing his participation, the director threw in the towel. According to Deadline, Leitch and the studio had different visions for the film. The negotiations ended amicably.

So Universal immediately began to look for a new leader to manage this new episode of the juicy license with a revenue of 6 billion dollars (for 6 films). According to The Hollywood ReporterThe studio tapped Garrett Edwards, whose credits include Godzilla, Star Wars Rogue One and most recently The Creator.

Is it a logical choice?

The director is in talks to sit in the director’s chair, followed by Colin Trevorrow, author of his latest opus, The World Afterwards. The choice of Gareth Edwards is logical, knowing his talent for shooting gigantic and fighting creatures (Godzilla, monsters).

The artist is also very experienced in directing large-scale blockbusters, his Star Wars episode is considered the best of the post-George Lucas era. He is also a great connoisseur of special effects. So his involvement in the Jurassic World project is pretty good news for fans, some of whom were disappointed by the proposed 2022 conclusion to The World After.

The producers of the film are Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley. The story is supposed to take place a few years after the events of Episode 3. Note that none of the actors seen in previous operations will be involved. See you in July 2025 for a new ride at Jurassic Park!
