Brazil qualifies for the quarterfinals of the Women’s Gold Cup, which takes place in the United States. In the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, the Brazilian team beat Colombia 1-0, at Snapdragon Stadium, in San Diego, California, and secured its place in the next stage. The goal of the match was by Duda Santos.

Thus, with this result, Brazil reached six points from two matches in Group B and secured themselves in the top eight. Colombia is in second place in the group with three points, the same score as Puerto Rico. Panama completes the group, with two defeats.

The goal of the match came after four minutes, with Duda Santos. The Brazilian team pressures the Colombians’ ball and takes advantage of goalkeeper Giraldo’s error. Gabi Nunes played for Duda, who hit the outlet of the Cafeteras’ No. 1 jersey to find the net.

In the second half the match was balanced, with chances on both sides. Colombia, who needed a draw, launched an attack, but stopped due to good marking by Arthur Elias’ men. Brazil scored in the 20th minute with Geyse heading Yasmim’s free kick, but VAR ruled the shot offside.

The two teams will return to the field next Tuesday, at the end of the group stage. Colombia faces Puerto Rico, while Brazil faces Panama.
