Influencer Buzeira is transferred to a detention center in Sao Paulo

Buzeira has been in pre-trial detention for a week and must await trial at the Provisional Detention Center (CDP) IV in Pinheiros

Summary

The influencer Buzeira was transferred to the IV Pinheiros Provisional Detention Center, in Sao Paulo, after being arrested by the Federal Police in an anti-money laundering operation linked to drug trafficking, while his defense claims the lack of concrete evidence.

Arrested last Tuesday, the 14th, in an operation by the Federal Police (PF) against money laundering linked to drug trafficking, the influencer Bruno Alexssander Souza Silva, known as Buzeira, was placed in custody at the Provisional Detention Center (CDP) IV of Pinheiros, in Sao Paulo. The information was confirmed by the Criminal Police of the State of São Paulo, Tuesday 21st.

No details have been released about the cell where the influencer is being held. The detention center in question has a capacity of 566 inmates and is occupied by 483, according to the latest update on the website of the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (SAP). CDPs are prisons that temporarily accommodate prisoners who need to await trial in a closed regime.

Buzeira has more than 15 million followers and has already been the subject of a Civil Police investigation for money laundering, gang formation and gambling exploitation due to the holding of prize competitions and lotteries organized on his Instagram profile.

According to the PF, Operation Narco Bet is an offshoot of Operation Narco Vela, carried out in April this year, which aimed to contain international drug trafficking by sailboats and private ships, from the Brazilian coasts.

The investigations reveal that the criminal group used financial transactions in cryptocurrencies and international remittances to evade the authorities, trying to hide the illicit origin of the values and hide assets. The PF also notes that part of the money moved by the group would have been destined to business structures linked to the electronic betting sector, the so-called Bets.

In a statement, Buzeira’s defense said they had not yet had full access to the operation documents and that, at this time, any judgment or conclusion was premature. According to lawyer Jonas Reis, who represents the influencer, there is, to date, no concrete element that demonstrates the influencer’s involvement in illicit activities.

“Bruno is a worker, has a stable residence, a legal source of income and has worked publicly on social media for years, being recognized nationally for his professional activity as a digital content creator. […] We reiterate the request for respect for the presumption of innocence, due process and the image of the person under investigation, avoiding speculation and hasty judgments”, he concludes.

Who is the influencer

Bruno was born in Itaquera, east of Sao Paulo, and his dream was to become a footballer. However, since he was not physically fit, he decided to attempt a singing career, but he was not successful either.

Neymar Jr. received a necklace made of gold and precious stones from the influencer Buzeira, who was arrested last Tuesday

His career as an influencer began in 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, when he was fired from a company in the foreign trade sector, where he had been working since 2017. He had previously worked in his uncle’s company, in the same sector.

Buzeira is known for giving Neymar a gold chain, worth around R$2 million, during the cruise named after Santos’ number 10.

“Gift from 00 to 00 boss 👑 speak well or speak badly, no one is the same Neymar must respect ❤️”, he wrote in the caption of the video in which he appears while handing the gift to the star.
