Flore (Emmanuel Bouaziz) made a very noticeable entrance in Un si grand soleil!
Sunny and bohemian Fleur packed her bags in Montpellier last November to meet her father Alain (Frederic van den Driesche). If the bond between father and daughter was immediate, the same cannot be said for his relationship with Elisabeth (Christel Labaud).
It must be said that their exchange with strong characters was electric at times, which makes us extremely happy.
But it’s undoubtedly her recent love affair with Louis (Sylvain Bocara) that promises to generate a lot of ink during the next episodes of the France 2 daily soap opera.
Not suspecting that Louis is a high school student who attends the same institution as her son, Flor lets herself be carried away by the news. Obviously, the fallout might hurt when the truth comes out.
In an interview a few days ago, Emmanuel Bouaziz, the interpreter of Sparkling Flora, spoke to AlloCiné about the continuation of this arch, which promises to be a big mess.
AlloCiné: What attracted you to the role of Flora?
Emmanuel Bouaziz : Flora is very free and that’s what I liked. That is, he has this side that is very open to everything and the world. We still feel beyond the good education she is imparting to her son. It’s her tough bohemian side that really appealed to me about her. He is a person who is very free and at the same time very aware of the people around him. He’s also very altruistic, with very good values that I try to push as far as possible in my game.
Flor had just started dating Louis. What mental state is he in? Are you planning something serious?
I think he is surprised by this news. At first he is looking for encounters and authentic items. So when that happens, he catches them in flight. I think that’s what’s going on with Lewis. It is no coincidence that he returned to this bar. At first it’s something very light, but it will allow things to happen.
Although he knows that Louis is younger than him, he is far from imagining that he is a high school student…
She knows from the beginning that there is an age difference, but she still feels that there is something, certainly a lack of maturity, in this boy.
How will Flor react when she discovers the truth?
Flor knows nothing, not even her history with Kira (Colin Ramos-Pinto). This means that Louis will correct certain information as events occur to him. But Flore has no doubts. He will just realize that there is something that is not at all clear about him. He does not immediately understand what is happening. On the other hand, his need for freedom will pass quickly.
How will Tiago react when he finds out that his mother is dating a boy who goes to the same high school as him?
This story will weaken their relationship.
Were you surprised when you read the script to discover that Flor had an affair with a younger man?
Yes (laughs).
How was filming with Sylvain Bokara?
Good! We were both afraid of this relationship because we didn’t know each other. We were very well guided by the three directors we worked with on this arch. And there was great respect and kindness and great professionalism. It was really fun to shoot because it was so easy. I think we did everything, me and him, to make things go as well as possible. We trusted each other. It was very nice to do it.
Flor hasn’t known Allen for long, and a wonderful bond quickly forms between father and son. Can we hope to see this bond develop further in future episodes with them interacting more often?
I won’t spoil it, but Allen and Florey will meet a lot to build this relationship. They will meet again, that’s for sure (laughs).
If the feeling was immediate between Flor and Allen, the same cannot be said for Elizabeth. Between their strong characters and fights, we can tell it’s pretty electric between them. How will this relationship develop? Will they be able to get along?
Elizabeth and Flor are completely different in their lifestyles and fundamental values. They’re not necessarily in the same place, so obviously Elizabeth suspects a lot about Fleur. Besides, you shouldn’t look too hard, because he doesn’t give up either (laughs). He is no match for Elizabeth. They have completely different core values. On the other hand, I think that over time and for Allen, they will have to find a common language. I wish them (laughs) but I think they will remain fragile.
Flor is a bohemian woman who has traveled a lot. We get the impression that he doesn’t really like staying in one place for long. Could he consider settling permanently in Montpellier?
I think what keeps him going is his father. I imagine when you are 35 and find a father, life and priorities change. And then, because he is someone who has already done and experienced a lot, maybe he wants to change and settle down.
We ultimately know little about Flora except that she is in conflict with her mother and that she leads a somewhat bohemian life. Are the writers going to dig into your character’s past in the coming months?
I think at this point the writers really want to build up the relationship between Allen and Flor and highlight the time they have to make up. But I think it will happen eventually.
Flor and Tiago have a very close, complicit and disturbing relationship. What do you think of this mother-daughter duo?
I love him very much. It is simple. There is such respect for the parent, but they are also very much friends, so sometimes it can be a little special. Tiago can act as a great friend to his mother when she does something stupid. Flor has given her son so much freedom that when he tells her something, it comes out of nowhere.
And we understand Felisen very well. This is joy! It’s really a very nice meeting.
Do you have any other projects besides Un si grand soleil that you can talk about?
I recently starred in Pascal Thomas’ film Le Voyage en Pajamas, which was released in theaters on January 17. All I can say about the rest is that I am active (laughs). And then I just came off Un si grand soleil, so I’m still getting used to it.
