The matches against Fluminense-PI and Botafogo-PB have been moved for the Copa do Brasil and the Copa do Nordeste




The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed the postponement of two Fortaleza matches on Saturday evening (24th). The changes came at the request of the Ceará Football Federation (CFC), following attacks that injured six Leão athletes.

The matches against Fluminense-PI, first phase of the Copa do Brasil, took place from Thursday (29th), at 8pm (Brasilia time), to Sunday (3rd), at 6.30pm (Brasilia time), in Teresina . To advance, the Tricolore has the advantage of a draw.

In addition to this match, the match against Botafogo-PB, for the Copa do Nordeste, has been moved from 5 to 6 March, at 7pm (Brasilia time), in Almeidão, in João Pessoa (PB).

SAF do Fortaleza CEO Marcelo Paz called for the changes. In fact, he was already counting on change. The FCF had also made the request for change from Mauro Carmélio, president of the Ceará Federation.

“The table is very closed, but we will be able to postpone it for a few days, also to recover not only the players physically, full of points and injuries, but also psychologically. They are very shaken, even the technical staff, within this act of terrorism. that’s what the Federation is concerned about, seeking help for its members,” Carmélio explained to Rádio O POVO CBN.
