Midfielder José Cifuentes celebrates a good start with Cruzeiro and talks about overcoming the elimination against Sousa in the Copa do Brasil
Cruzeiro beat Pouso Alegre, 2-0, this Sunday morning (25), in a duel at the Campeonato Mineiro. The match took place at Parque do Sabiá, in Uberlândia. The Ecuadorian midfielder José Cifuentes, moreover, played his first official match with the Celeste shirt and celebrated.
The athlete said that the triumph is positive to overcome the problems experienced recently, such as the elimination in the Copa do Brasil, after the 2-0 defeat against Sousa. He even believes that if the team continues with the same approach, the fans will have reason to celebrate.
“It’s very exciting to debut with the victory, after what we experienced in the previous quarter. Now the time is to move forward, we are very focused on what awaits us, the team is working for this and I am convinced that if we continue like this, by working hard and focused, we will do well,” he stressed
With the victory over Pouso Alegre, Cruzeiro secured qualification to the semi-final of the Campeoanto Mineiro. The victory brought Cruzeiro to 16 points, first in group A. They overtook Tombense, who has 15 points. However, both will go to the semi-finals (NR: Tombos’ team will, in the worst case scenario, be the best overall runner-up).
