“Definitely the series we’ve been waiting for”: This new Netflix production, rated 4.1/5, is already getting rave reviews!

With One Piece, Netflix has ended the curse of live-action anime adaptations. With Avatar the Last Airbender, which is basically a cartoon, the platform was waiting around the corner. And if we believe the audience, the bet paid off once again.

This series takes us to a world where the nations of water, earth, fire and air once lived in harmony. The Avatar, master of the four elements, guaranteed peace among them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and destroyed the Air Nomads in their first maneuver to conquer the world…

To bring the story of Aang and his friends to the screen, Netflix invested resources: 120 million dollars were allocated to the project (i.e. 15 million episodes). A necessary sum for this fantastic series, with its special effects and special attention to costuming. So many things highlighted by the callers who flocked to him this weekend.

After only four days of operation, Avatar the Last Airbender has already taken the top 10 spot ahead of Spain’s Entrevias and Britain’s Un Jour. And the streak can go on for days or even weeks if it’s successful. It already enjoys quality speech and a fairly high AlloCiné rating of 4.1/5 at the time of writing.

Avatar The Last Airbender on Netflix: How Old Are the Cast and Characters in Season 1?

So what do subscribers think of Avatar on Netflix?

Avatar is faithful to the animated series

“An excellent adaptation very faithful to the anime. The casting is good, the sets are beautiful, the special effects are quite well done. It’s a real pleasure to watch.” (chromaria)

“Much more faithful to the original series than the film of the same name. Not surprising, since it was partially directed by one of the creators of the animated series. Other than that, it’s very well acted with careful special effects that serve the series well :)” (crust)

“A great adaptation of the series from my childhood. What a treat to see his characters back on screen. Can’t wait to see more!!” (Louise N)

“I’ve watched up to episode 5. It’s enough for me to have real moments of emotion, action, successful special effects and faithfulness to the animated series that give confidence in the future.” (Emilien Hoss)

Quality special effects

“Watched the first episode: simply wonderful! This is definitely the Avatar series we’ve been waiting for. The special effects are good, the casting is great, and the production is meticulous.” (Florian T.)

“I’ve watched the whole season and there’s a lot to say. Compared to the previous movie, I definitely prefer this version. I think the special effects are much better and more rhythmic.” (Jonathan Duzeley)

“Scenery and special effects: 5/5 Casting: 5/5 Screenplay: 5/5. Most of the recent live action has disappointed me a lot (except for Yu Yu Hakusho) but I have to say that it’s very well written, of course it’s not the whole first season of the cartoon, but they put the story together very well. . The acting is great, the settings are great… I’m honestly repeating myself, but I have nothing to complain about, they combine characters and moments from season 2, but it allows for better consistency.” (domain)

With initial positive reviews and good momentum around the world, will Avatar The Last Airbender get a season 2? We should know soon…
