It All Begins Here: What to Expect in Episode 870 for Tuesday, February 27, 2024 [SPOILERS]

Is Iris telling Thibault the truth?

In the workshop, Iris works with Jasmine. Jim helps them retrieve the bottles from the cellar, very attentive to the mother’s health. He rushes to class while Leroy arrives, still suspecting that he is lying to his ex-wife about his illness. He is going to find out what she is hiding. Unlike Jasmine, she doesn’t know that Iris is back at the Institute because Thibaut is the only compatible donor for a liver transplant that can save her. As Leroy leaves, Jasmine urges Iris to tell her children the truth. But the latter is already very ashamed of having deceived them so much.

Teissier, on the other hand, is in a bad mood after an argument with Leroy the day before. He begins to doubt the truth of Iris’s words. After that, Constance reveals to her husband the real reason for the latter’s return, although she is sure that he has since changed his mind and is not going to ask Thibaut for help. But Tessier doesn’t believe it for a second.

He goes to the workshop, interrupting Iris and Jim to push them against a wall and force him to confess the truth to his eldest son. Once again, she feels betrayed by her mother. She thought he just came back to be closer to them. After discovering yet another lie, Jimmy declares that he never wants to see her again.

Leaving the workshop, Jimmy finds Jasmine and her father to explain the situation to them. Jasmine defends Iris, saying that she no longer wanted to ask Thibaut for help because of the shame on her. While Leroy doesn’t want to involve his youngest son in the whole story, Jimmy and Jasmine feel he has a right to know what’s going on.

Leroy joins Iris at the Institute’s exit while she loads the suitcases into the car. He convinces her to stay and go together to see Thibaut so she can make her choice with full knowledge of the facts. Iris and Mark drive together to Thibaut’s godfather’s house. Iris recalls that this is the place where they spent their last family vacation before their separation. Mark admits he wasn’t there when their boys were little. Iris admits she never understood why, because she was the one who wanted children. She had never felt a maternal instinct. Mark admits his mistakes and apologizes for treating him so harshly.

Iris and Mark then get out of the car and run into Thibault. The latter is surprised by their presence. Just as Iris is about to tell him everything, she suddenly collapses…

Lionel and Judy are put to the test

At Léonine, Lionel and Judy discuss the restaurant’s menu with Mattéo as they made some adjustments to it. The two students will now see how the manager works in the kitchen so that he is ready for work the next day at noon, where about thirty subscribers, from the network of the institute, have already made reservations. After that, Matteo wants to know if they found him a cute waitress. Lionel and Judy try to keep calm.

In the kitchen, Lionel and Jude made quite a few changes: replacing the equipment with new ones and reorganizing the space to optimize efficiency. But this worries Mateo, who is having trouble finding his feet. Besides, he does not know how to cook. His plate of ground sausage doesn’t convince Lionel and Jude. If they try to make him understand the importance of austerity, Mateo does not take them seriously. However, he does not follow their advice without being offensive or homophobic.

Back at the institute, Judy admits to her partner that she is having a hard time dealing with Mateo’s behavior. Lionel, on the other hand, tries to understand him. He thinks that Mateo is suffering from an inferiority complex and is acting to cover up his fear. First of all, Lionel really wants to test their concept. He manages to convince Judy to give Mateo a chance. But both of them remember that they haven’t found anyone yet for the next day’s service.

Hortense corrects Leonard and Malik

At the studio, Hortense breaks away from her cooking session with Malik and Leonard to make a phone call. Malik takes the opportunity to tell his friend that Billy’s strategy has failed. As a result, Magal is even more interested in him. And, to top it off, Hortense really believes they’re a couple. Leonard can’t help but imagine their boss’s reaction if he found out that he too slept with Nolan. But Hortense overhears their conversation. He dismisses them because of the professionalism of his brigade.

Hortense then goes to the management office where Antoine is finishing up a phone call with Nolan and Magali. After hanging up, the deputy director says that they are so satisfied with the work of Hortense and her team that they have offered to sign a long-term partnership with the institute. This gave Antoine the idea to create a new module, Event Catering, for which Hortense would be responsible. He offers to open his brigade to other students. But Antoine informs him that Nolan and Magali have specifically requested that Leonard and Malik take care of the following events.

Hortense therefore announces to Leonard and Malik that she will reinstate them in her brigade on the condition that they no longer mix sex with work. He also insists that Malik continue to play with Magali. Indeed, if he throws it away, the latter risks breaking the planned partnership with the Institute.

A little later, Magali finds Malik at CDI. She admits to him that their discussion the day before allowed her to realize that she was still in love with her ex. He hopes he won’t hurt Malik and asks if he feels he can work with him. The young man assures that there will be no problem. After Magalie leaves, Hortense joins Malik. Both are relieved that the problem solved itself.
