The player has a loan contract with the Rio club until June this year; the future is still uncertain in Laranjeiras
Marlon, from Fluminense, has entered the sights of Bahia, one of the clubs with the greatest hiring power in Brazil in 2024. According to former player Preto Casagrande, the Esquadrão board of directors is evaluating the player, 28 years old, who would be a good reinforcement for the defensive sector.
The defender belongs to Shakhtar Donetsk from Ukraine and his loan contract with the Rio club expires in June. Tricolor is looking to extend the deal, but the defender’s continuity in Laranjeiras is not so certain, although he recently showed interest in staying in Rio de Janeiro.
The current season, however, has not been positive for Marlon. This is because he suffers from an injury to his left knee. His seasonal debut, in fact, only took place last Thursday (22nd), against LDU, in Quito, in the first match of the Recopa Sudamericano.
In the classic last Sunday (25th), against Flamengo, at the Maracanã, for the Campeonato Carioca, the defender felt pain again and had to leave the match at half-time.
