Avatar: The Last Airbender, a new live-action series based on Nickelodeon animation, just arrived on Netflix and is already breaking records. According to the official report of the series on X (Twitter), the production, launched in streaming on February 22, is already the most watched series in the world.
With all this success, Netflix is obviously already thinking about how to make even more use of all the content designed for animation, even considering a second season.
I think we’re really trying to be as faithful as possible, but we also keep in mind that we have to fit everything into eight episodes, into a narrative that will keep people watching. There are things we filmed that I love that aren’t in the show. There are things that I love the idea of, that we’re done filming, but we’re not done. If we have another season, we will definitely take advantage of these things, because I think what we did wrong now, we can do better next time.
Jabbar Raisani, executive producer of Avatar: The Last Airbender, in an interview with Deadline.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first live-action based on the original animated material: a film, directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The sixth sense), was released in theaters in 2010, but was considered a failure by critics, as it adapted the story poorly. Get it here!
With three initial seasons (61 episodes), Avatar: The Last Airbender, since 2005, has become one of the most beloved animations in history. In addition to their success on television screens, the titles gave rise to a franchise that has received sequels in films, series, books and comics.
