Robinho’s trial has a date confirmed by the STJ

Robinho is accused of sexual assault

There is a date to be set for the trial against Robinho, accused of rape. In this case, March 19th. The date was confirmed by the Special Tribunal of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).

Although Robinho was sentenced to nine years in Italy, the country’s government wants the former player to serve his sentence in Brazil.

The former Santos was convicted of sexual assault in 2022, accused of having committed gang violence against an Albanian woman in Milan, in 2013. Robinho’s conviction in Italy, for the crime of rape, was based mainly on recordings of telephone calls , used precisely as an argument for Robinho’s defense at the STJ so that he would not be arrested in Brazil.

Although the Italian government has requested Robinho’s extradition, Brazil does not extradite its own citizens. In order for Robinho to serve his sentence on national territory, the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) must approve the decision, and this process is currently in the hearing phase.

On Tuesday (27), Robinho attended a barbecue organized by Santos at the Training Center after Peixe’s victory against São Bernardo. Although Santos claimed that he was neither invited nor attended the meeting, there are recordings of Robinho with athletes present, such as Pedrinho.
