TOMORROW BELONGS TO US: ‘Damien’s job will be put in question and his relationship will be put under the spotlight’… Adrien Robb reveals about his character

Nothing is going well for the Roussel family in Tomorrow Belongs To Us.

Jordan (Maxim Leloux), the ambulance driver accused of Albany’s murder and found dead in the parking lot of St. Clair Hospital, is in jail today.

Convinced of his innocence, Damien (Adrien Robb) moves across heaven and earth to vindicate his stepmother. In his search for the truth, things don’t go as planned, and Damien may put both his career and marriage in jeopardy.

A few days ago, Adrienne Robb, an interpreter at Damien Juilliard, spoke to Allociné about the continuation of this conspiracy.

Alocine: It’s been a big season for Damien. After Violet (Salome Benita) and the Philippines (Patricia Thibault), it’s Charles’s turn (Roberto Calvetti) getting off in Sete. Do you like the writers delving into the history of the Juilliard family?

Adrienne Robb : I’m very happy. To be honest, I didn’t expect that much, but it’s a very pleasant surprise. Between the marriage of Audrey (Charlotte Gacchio) and Damien and the arrival of Violet, 2023 was rich with emotion.

I did not expect Charles and the Philippines to arrive. Let’s say Damien arrives on set alone and then it turns out that he’s actually part of a big family (laughs). I think it’s great. For me, it is full of twists and surprises.

This summer, the writers created a big arc around Violet’s arrival. Were you surprised when you were reading the script to discover that Damien’s sister had been kidnapped 15 years earlier, or did you already know that going into the series?

This is what I discovered while developing the scripts. It’s funny that I didn’t really know Damien’s story coming into the series. So I tried to dig a little deeper and find out my own story.

I spoke quite a bit to Nicolas Brossett, the director of the collection, to find out if Damien had any siblings and if he had a good relationship with his parents. Together we found a common language.

So I started adding a little more emotion as the stories progressed, especially when it involved children and adults. Then Violet came along and I said to myself that I finally managed to build this little story well.

Jordan had just been charged with Albany’s murder. What can you tell us about what to expect in the next few episodes?

Damien is under tension. He continues to believe that Jordan is innocent and that it was Laure Cotentin who committed the perjury. Therefore, he will try to find evidence and present the facts to his colleagues.

Except it won’t happen the way he wants it to. There will be plenty of traps that will force him to do some crazy things and go outside the box of procedure to find answers.

Who will have that hope in this investigation?

Sara (Camille Genau) and Roxanne (Raphael Volkoff) are by his side. Especially Roxana. He looks a bit like his partner in PTS. He will help Damien. This is good because the Roxanne-Damien bond will be strengthened. And then the strength of PTS is revealed. We will see a united team.

But hey, Damien is going to do some not-so-cool stuff like break into Laure Cotentin’s house.

Will Damien lose his job?

He’s going to stop. Is he going to lose his job? Anyway, he’s about to lose it. Everything goes wrong for Damien. The house of cards is falling apart a bit. That is, he rebuilt his family with Audrey and Russell’s children, he finally has stability at work, while before he was partying a lot and doing striptease on a spoon (laughs).

The moment he takes his role as a father too seriously, everything falls apart. It’s going a little crazy. It is an obsession for him. He no longer knows his limits. He is obsessed with Lor Contentini and has only one goal: to acquit Jordan and save the Russell family.

In the end it doesn’t work and it’s very inconvenient. His job will be in question and his relationship will definitely be on the hot seat. It will be very difficult for him.

We feel Damien’s paternal instincts have been awakened by this plot. What will he have to do with Jordan after that?

I don’t know yet. I have no information about this. In any case, when we read the police arrest scene, Maxime Leloux and I immediately said that it was a key scene in the plot, but also for Damien and Jordan.

This is what will strengthen their bond and father-son love. We take this very seriously and to our hearts, hoping that they will have more scenes together in the future.

This plot allows us to see the tension that exists within the Juilliard family and learn more about this unresolved tragic past. Can we hope that Damien, Philippin and Charles will solve their problems and strengthen their family ties?

Not easily. There is much untold in this family. Damien is having a hard time because he can’t put the past aside. He tries hard but is clumsy.

On the other hand, Violet wants to love her family and luckily she is there because she brings freshness and sincerity. He is somewhere the most sincere in the family. On the other hand, Filipinos love their children. It shows, but they can’t tell each other that they love each other or that they’re sorry.

I read about the scenes that will be shot soon and I can tell that there will be some effort. We feel like the writers are trying to rebuild the relationship between Charles and Damien and get things back on a good footing.

Regardless, it will take time because this is a family that has been through a lot, that is still suffering, and above all, it is broken.

Should Charles and the Philippines stay?

I can’t speak for the authors, but I think so. This conspiracy will be crucial for the Juilliards, but everything will depend on the community. We hope so in any case, because we are all very well.

In parallel with this story, Jordan and Violet circle each other. How would Damien react if they became a couple?

As long as he can’t see it, Damien can ignore it. I think he just wants his blood family and his love family to be reunited. He wants everything to be fine. Then we all know that singing and love stories usually end badly.

It would be boring for him if he had to position himself and console one more than the other. So I don’t know. We’ll see when the time comes if this little flirtation is successful.

You are currently in a series in his carWhat can you tell me about this project?

This is a series that was filmed in Ukraine during the war. It tells the story of a psychologist who becomes a transporter and decides to take civilians to their desired destinations. These are generally pretty safe places.

Every time a person enters this psychologist’s car, we discover their story. These are common stories, but they relate to us all and can happen to anyone. It shows how Ukrainian civilians are trying to continue living despite the war.

Alongside this, we discover the story of Lydia, a psychologist who was also shot and killed in 2014 when the Russian army invaded Ukraine. He wants to know who killed her, why and if it was a conspiracy.

Do you have any other projects you can tell us about?

Soon I will be in the series Le Negotiateur with François-Xavier Demaison. I have a guest role in one episode. This is a series that shows how law enforcement officers deal with hostage situations. It’s very cool.

I play a completely different role than Damien. It was a real pleasure to play in this series directed by Arnold Mercadier.
