The new film about the traditional hero Superman will arrive in theaters only in 2025. But director James Gunn decided to provide some information about the film, giving a real gift to the fans. In addition to announcing a name change for the film, he revealed the costume the protagonist will wear.
In an Instagram post, the director shared a detail of the hero’s costume in his new film, with the traditional “S” highlighted. The logo, already briefly seen in a set photo published by one of the film’s actresses, refers to the one used in Kingdom of tomorrowcomic miniseries written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross and published in 1996.
Gunn did not provide further explanations about the costume, but celebrated a happy coincidence: February 29 (publication date), the day photography work on the film began, is also the hero’s birthday.
James Gunn also revealed that the film will have a title SUPERMANand nothing more Superman: Legacy. He explained that the change occurred after the final version of the script was completed. According to the director, once the creative process was finished “it became clear that the title was it SUPERMAN“.
