Average prices of diesel and gasoline increased in February compared to the close of the previous month, with an increase in the price of oil in the foreign market and an increase in the ICMS state tax rate, according to a survey by ValeCard, a company specializing in safety, mobility this Friday.
The average price of ethanol has also increased, likely due to the impact of the low sugar cane season, ValeCard’s head of innovation and portfolio, Brendon Rodrigues, said in a statement.
“In general, this (the low season) affects the price of ethanol in this period in several ways, related to lower supply, increased demand and low supplies, which may contribute to this increase, varying by region of the country,” Rodrigues said.
The average price of S-10 diesel, the most consumed in Brazil at service stations, recorded an increase of 0.40% in February, to 6,206 reais per liter, compared to the end of January, according to the survey based on transactions carried out in more than 25 thousand accredited establishments in all states of Brazil.
The price of gasoline, in turn, increased by 2.53%, to 5.943 reais per liter, while hydrated ethanol increased by 3.33%, to 3.713 reais.
