In the first world jetsuit competition, the champion was the British Issa Calvon. Second and third place on the podium were occupied respectively by Paul Jones and Freddie Hay, also British.

The sport is far from being considered Olympic and there is no doubt about its inclusion 2024 Olympics in Parisin France, but the challenge helps create the first fans of these races, capable of aiming high technologyflying skill and physical strength of the pilot.

The power of the jet suit

Inspired by the comic book universe, like iron manand in Formula 1, the suits worn by competitors contain five gas turbine propulsion units, installed in the arms and back, with more than 1,000 horsepower.

Under ideal conditions, the Gravity Industries equipment can reach speeds of 128 km/h, but it doesn’t have the range to stay in the air for that long.
