On the night of this Saturday 1, the governor of Rio Grande do Sul took the stage and sang a traditional song of Rio Grande do Sul.
BRASÍLIA – The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSDB), tried his hand as a singer in the tenth meeting of the Consortium for the Integration of the South and South-East (Cosud), which will be held in Porto Alegre until Saturday 2. This Friday evening First Leite took the stage at the event and sang a traditional Gaucho song.
The governor published on his social networks this Saturday 2, a recording of his singing. Leite performed the song “Canto Alegretense”, written by the regional musical group Os Serranos.
“In addition to the integration of business meetings, Cosud is a time to strengthen the bonds of friendship between our neighboring states. Here I dared to show everyone some gaucho music!”, Leite said in the caption of the post .
From Thursday 29th Leite will receive the governors in Porto Alegre Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans-SP), Romeo Zema (Novo-MG), Mouse Junior (PSD-MG), Claudio Castro (PL-RJ) e Jorginho Mello (PL-SC). It was the first time that Cosud met after the event called by former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in Avenida Paulista last Sunday, the 25th, which brought together hundreds of thousands of people.
Although they deny that Cosud has a political bias, the governors are allies of Bolsonaro and opponents of the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The exceptions are Renato Casagrande (PSB-ES) and Eduardo Leite himself. The Gaucho has distanced itself from Bolsonarism in recent years, but is critical of the PT government and is seeking to establish itself nationally as a third-way option.
Last Monday, the 26th, Leite defended that the PSDB should not ally for the re-election of Ricardo Nunes (MDB) to the municipality of São Paulo. According to the gaucho, the refusal is due to the fact that Nunes is supported by Bolsonaro.
“I respect Mayor Ricardo Nunes. His work begins with the PSDB, also with Mayor Bruno Covas. But there was a choice of a path of association precisely with Bolsonaro, which diverges, clashes, with what the PSDB seeks to represent, an alternative in this national political context,” Leite told the newspaper The globe.
