The good news for Gray Anatomy fans: Until TF1 airs tonight the unannounced 17th season finale, in which Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Winston (Anthony Hill) will be married, the channel will not wait to continue and air. This new series of episodes of the famous medical series led by Ellen Pompeo, which is still broadcast on ABC, will then offer two episodes every Wednesday on TF1, even if the front page has not yet specified whether the season will end or if a delay was expected. Due to unfinished duplication before the summer (the end of the 18th season is scheduled to cross the Atlantic in May).

The programming decision, of course, is motivated by the good scores achieved by Gray Anatomy every Wednesday, after returning to air in late January.

Indeed, despite a decline in audience over the years (only 2.91 million subscribers were gathered before the first episodes of Season 17), the two episodes of January 26 reached an audience share of 34.6% of women responsible for purchases under the age of fifty.

And TF1 was still the leader with this key figure last Wednesday, at 27.9% of the FRDA-50, despite competing for the best chef on the M6.

Another good news for Gray Anatomy fans who may have struggled with recent episodes dedicated to the Corovirus Pandemic is that this eighteenth season takes place in a “fictional” post-Covid world as the writers decide to leave the pandemic and make a claim. Krista Wernoff, Gray’s Anatomy Showrunner, explained last fall the reasons for choosing this script, which is accompanied by a card at the beginning of each episode stating that the series is now running in a fictional reality without Covid.

“Last season we dealt thoroughly with Covid”– Wernoff told Deadline. “Some of the shows were about one or two episodes on it, but we spent the whole season on it. It was powerful, important and authentic to us. And it reflected what was really happening in the medical community and then in the world. Time.”.

The heroine, played by Ellen Pompeo since 2005, will leave the corridors of Gray Sloan Hospital to go to Minnesota at the request of her mother’s former colleague, who wants to entrust her with an experimental Parkinson’s cure protocol from which she herself suffers.

The Doctor, played by Peter Gallagher (Newport Beach), who will not be the only major guest this 18th season after Kate Wall resumes two episodes of the role of Addison Montgomery, which she no longer had in the series after Season 8. .
