Payment methods company Cielo announced this Friday that its retail sales index, ICVA, showed an increase of 0.5% in February compared to the same month last year, discounting inflation.
The company said “calendar effects” helped trade last month and that the highlight of retail trade’s performance was the non-durable goods sector, which showed growth of 2.5% driven by performance of supermarkets and “specialized food retail”.
But the durable and semi-durable goods and services sectors declined by 2.1% and 1.9%, respectively.
